    Toward a transparent White House...

Commentary that Obama could use the web to have a transparent Whitehouse instead of a White(wash)house. Helping run such a website would be an amazing job.

    Picks of the day

PingMag This Japanese website is really, really interesting if you’re a design geek.

Deezer This French site brings free, legal on-demand music to the scene. The catalog of music is decent, though it’s light on 80s new wave. It allows you to share music on your blog which I may try soon.

    JP likes Buffalo

It’s nice to see a sports player like his newfound hometown. Especially when it’s a southern California boy has adopted Buffalo,N.Y.

I hope J.P. Losman finds his way toward winning seasons. Then he can enjoy his new hometown for years to come.

    Ratatouille

Wow, I think Pixar has another winner up its sleeve. Here’s a 9-minute preview of their new movie Ratatouille.

Ratatouille is from the same guy who brought us the Iron Giant and the Incredibles, Brad Bird. We’ll have to wait until June 29, but I’m pretty sure this movie will give him a hat trick.

    Industrial photography

There’s something rather spooky about photographing dead industrial complexes. Indeed, even live factories can lead to haunting photographs. Worksongs from Andrew Emond captures that feeling well. Good stuff. (Hattip BuffaloRising.com)

    Happy Birthday Buffalo!

My hometown turns 175 years old today.

To celebrate, the Buffalo Sabres held off the desperate NY Islanders to advance to the next round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

This is what happens when a creative librarian is let loose in the stacks. (Hat tip to Elsa K.)

  • A librarian and a potter sitting in a tree... This is a journal of our life, culture, libraries, the Apple Macintosh, progressive politics, and of course historic Madison, Indiana, the most beautiful rivertown in America.
